The Income List (Customer > Income List) makes it easy to complete several customer related tasks in one place. You can think of it as your one stop shop for all customer related transactions including sales receipts, invoices, estimates, receiving payments, statements, and credit memos.
Benefits to Using the Income List
Because everything is in one place, you can save time processing all customer related transactions. One of the most appealing benefits is that you are also able, at quick glance, to get an idea of your open invoices and those you have recently received payment for.
1. Money Bar
The Money Bar provides you a visual summary of four categories: Unbilled Estimates, Unbilled Time & Costs, Unpaid Open Invoices, and Paid Invoices/Sales Receipts.
Clicking on a category will provide you a detailed list of the income transactions making up the category balance.
You can also select filter settings to sort your income list detail by specific fields.
You have the option of sorting the list by Date, Type, Num, Name, Due Date, Total, Last Delivered, and Status.
2. Print, Export, and Create New
From the Income List you can print your income list data and export your income list data to Excel.
You also have the ability to create new Estimates, Invoices, Sales Receipts and Credit Memos.
3. Batch Actions
Batch Actions enable you to apply the same action to more than one income list item. Depending upon which category you have selected (Estimates, Unbilled Time & Costs, Open Invoices, Paid), you can apply a single action item including Printing Transactions, Create Invoices, Print Packing Slip, Send Transactions to all income list items (batch).
There are additional features that were not covered in this post including receiving payments, working with unbilled time & costs, and estimates. Follow this resource to learn more about how to use the Income List in QuickBooks Online. We only chose to highlight three.
